WaterWipes, the world’s purest baby wipes, has launched the Pure Foundation Fund, a new global bursary scheme established to celebrate and recognise the role of maternity and neonatal healthcare professionals caring for new parents and their babies around the world.

The Fund’s first campaign “These Are The Hands” will see bursary donations to hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world. This global campaign will reward selected healthcare professionals in Australasia with $10,000 in total towards two of the winner’s departments to continue to improve care for parents and babies.

According to WaterWipes, the Pure Foundation Fund was developed in response to the COVID-19 health crisis and how it has highlighted the importance of human connection.
“The pandemic has highlighted the dedication of our healthcare heroes who go above and beyond to provide support, compassion and care for others – even during a crisis. The pregnancy, birth and post-natal journey can include so many healthcare professionals including midwives, doctors, nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists, obstetricians and neonatal professionals,” said Andrea Hawes, Marketing Manager of WaterWipes Australasia.

“These hands touch the lives of expectant and new parents, both physically and emotionally. From the first scans to delivering the baby, to making a c-section incision, these hands play such an important role yet often remain anonymous. This campaign will put the spotlight on these stories and celebrate the role of healthcare professionals,” she said.

Professionals can be nominated by either their peers or by the parents they have provided care to and the Australian and New Zealand winners will be selected by a panel of judges including Australia’s most recognised breastfeeding expert Pinky McKay, high-profile neonatologist Dr Howard Chilton and Paralympian and Order of Australia Medal recipient, Jessica Smith.

Nominations must include a statement of up to 800 words outlining the exceptional care provided and be submitted by November 23rd, 2020.

WaterWipes are the world’s purest baby wipes, made with just two ingredients – 99.9% water and a drop of fruit extract. WaterWipes are safe and gentle enough for the most sensitive newborn skin, as well as on premature babies. They are purer than cotton wool and water, are the preferred choice for hospital neonatal units and are recommended by midwives across the globe. WaterWipes is also a proud Gold Sponsor of the Eczema Association of Australasia.
